A Whole Bunch of Driving . . .

but it was worth it!
We were able to get tickets to one session of General Conference so we headed out on the Friday before.
We decided to have a few adventures along the way in “our quest to conquer counties.”

On Saturday morning we headed up to a beautiful mountain canyon to listen to conference on the radio (because you can do that in Utah!)

(sure glad we hung on to our old transistor radio)

There was something really special listening to our church leaders while amidst Heavenly Father’s creations.
We were able to spend time with both David and Allie for a little while.  We had dinner then, Paul and David went to a broadcast of the priesthood session while Allie and I went shopping.
The next morning, we picked up David and headed to the morning session of General Conference.  It was AWEsome to be there.

After the session, we dropped David off at his apartment and headed home.

We were able to tune into almost all of the afternoon session before we lost the signal.
We spent most of our weekend in our car, but we cherish the opportunities that  we get to visit with our children and to be able to attend General Conference in the Conference Center.

Well Duh, It’s What We Do . . .

A trip to So Cal always includes what?  (easy answer if you know Paul at all!)

Paul always goes with a plan.  This time he wanted to take a photo of the entrance of each land.  I wanted to play along even though I wasn’t too concerned about the quality. . . .

I got most of the different entrances, but not all.  It’s alright, because Paul did!
We also amused ourselves by posing for the camera on the rides that snap your photo.  We weren’t nearly as creative as the others riding with us.

(I leaned the wrong way!)

How did we manage to ride so many times?  Because we picked the perfect day to go. . . .100_7492100_7482
It was NOT crowded and the weather was ideal.
This braille map cracked me up. I don’t know why.  I guess I wondered how a blind person could maneuver through the park on a typical day much less find the braille map. But at the same time, it was super cool because it’s those kinds of details that the folks at Disneyland think of.

We tried out a new restaurant and paid beaucoup bucks for a tasty torte that was smaller than my hand (and I have little hands). . .
100_7478
We took notice of Club 33, a place we will never get to go.

By late afternoon we were pooped and looked for ways to rest up.  . . like watching a show . . .

and the monorail.

We must be getting old because we decided that we were done. . . hours before closing time.  (shhhhhh. . . don’t tell)
We love going to Disneyland, but the adventure each time becomes a bit different.  Though we didn’t spend as many hours in the park as we have in the past, we still enjoyed our jaunt to the Happiest Place on Earth.

All I Did Was Blink . . .

We headed back to Utah to meet up with our grandbaby. . .

and she has already grown so much.
Jennifer looks just right as her mom (but it still seems weird because it seems like just the other day, I was holding her as a baby in my arms.)

We gave Jennifer and Leah a ride to a doctor’s appointment before we headed out of town for an adventure.100_7412
100_7413
100_7415We headed down to Arizona, giving our granddaughter her second state.  I’m not sure it was her favorite one. . .

Paul took the opportunity to bird watch just a little. . .

Then we hit the road again for our next destination. . .

Lucky Me!

With winter fast approaching, I knew I had to get out to Utah with a CRIB for my grandbaby. . . she was due to make an appearance at the end of January.
So I (meaning Paul) loaded up the crib that all my kids slept in, and I took off.
The drive is not the most interesting, but I took pictures to entertain anyway!

Allie and I have a tradition going . . we get cupcakes.  (She saves her cheat day for ME!)

Jennifer did not want any photos of her pregnant body posted, but you are missing out.  She is a darn cute pregnant woman!
It was a QUICK trip.  I needed to be home to take care of my man and to teach my Sunday class.
To amuse myself, I photo-journal-ed a bunch of the rest stops along the way.  (Stretching the legs makes a HUGE difference.)  Don’t get too excited!

Last rest stop which means I am getting closer to home!

and the home stretch!
I felt so lucky that the weather was not bad at all and that I traveled safely.  I love that we still had the crib all my kids used and that my grandbaby would get to sleep where her mom did.
So excited!!!!!!!
