Happy Anniversary to Us!

We decided to have an anniversary adventure this year so we headed to Cali.

Our destination was Sacramento where we had some planned activities.
First up was the Crocker Museum.

We saw lots of great art but wasted too much time at the beginning looking at the more modern pieces.  It turns out they are my favorite.  I didn’t know that before we went.
Looking at art makes one hungry . . . where else would we go?

It was a great lunch, giving us enough energy to go shopping . . .

which wouldn’t have been as exciting if we had one closer to where we live.
And we drove home. . .

We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area and not too far away from things we don’t have.
What better way to spend one’s anniversary . . . than with each other!

Does That Mean Three More Years?

It was roughly two years ago that Paul was sustained as the bishop of our ward.  “They” say it is a five year calling . . unless it’s more or less.
‘They” also say that being bishop accelerates the gray hair and/or the balding process.

It hasn’t.  I think Paul is up to 4 gray hairs (all of which he is very proud!) 

He needs to practice his stern look.  Scary?  Not!

I’m lucky to be married to such a great guy. . .

but I fear it will be many more than 3 years until he is released.

Further Adventures (aka part 3)

After South Lake Tahoe, we rounded the corner and headed up the west side. 
We didn’t stop in the Emerald Bay area mostly because it was so crowded.  The photos were taken from our moving car . . .
Then we reached unfamiliar territory (at least to me).

It was so nice until . . .

It’s a good thing we were taking a side trip to Donner State Park. (We had not been there before.)

Then we headed back and saw more of this. . .


We had enough so we stopped at a rest stop that was pretty pleasant

oops. . .my camera died.. . the rest will remain a mystery (since I can’t prove any of it.)  End of story

The Beginning of the Next 25 Years! (part 2)

The second part of our anniversary celebration took place the next day. 
We decided to drive all the way around Lake Tahoe (which I had never done before.)

Driving up to the lake. . .

25 years and counting (part 1)

We had all sorts of thoughts of how to spend our 25th anniversary.  For a while, we thought we might take a trip to San Fran and pick up tickets to see Wicked.
We looked at our savings and changed plans.  We had a two day adventure.
The first day we drove over to Sacramento and went to the temple.

We had never been there before but has passed by it many times.  So this was THE day finally that we cleared our schedules and enjoyed a session. 
It was really nice.
We followed that up with a trip to our favorite restaurant chain (Old Spaghetti Factory).  One of our first dates was to the one in Newport Beach, CA.
It was a GREAT day.
